Island games, Rhodes 2007
The Island Games were established in the Isle of Man in 1985. Following the
success of the event, the International Island Games Association (IGA) was
formed to provide an opportunity for athletes from island communities, with
a population of less than 120,000, to compete at international level, whilst
fostering strong cultural exchanges and lifelong friendships.

Folk dances
The tradition is celebrated at the Greek Theatre of Folk Dances in the Old
Town of
Rodos.
The Greek tradition is kept alive every year at the Greek Theatre of Folk
Dances of Nelly Dimoglou, in the old town of
Rodos.
The theatre organizes lessons of genuine Greek folk dances. The gardens are
open all day round, with cocktail parties and, at 9.30 p.m.., a show of typical
dances with live music and traditional costumes takes place every Monday,
Wednesday and Friday, starting from about the middle of June until October
8th. The corps de ballet which performs there has an experience of more than
12.000 performances all over Greece and abroad and it has a worldwide reputation.

Environment Film Festival.
Once again in 2009, the island of
Rodos
is the meeting place for “Ecofilm”, the International Environment
film Festival. The Festival, which will last 7 days and known so far as “Ecocinema”,
in order to ensure once again its success, needs the contribution and the
participation of all the film directors interested in the presentation of
their works about ecology and environment. That is the reason why, until March
1st, Ecocinema will be waiting for your requests of participation, even if
