Built on top of an ancient arch in the old town of Rhodes, this 3 level building has been renovated by the owner tastefully and respecting the fascinating character of the medieval city, a spot lost in space and time. The apartment can be used as a perfect romantic scene for a vacation away from the cliché’ of the usual white Greek summer houses. The exterior has maintained the severe austerity of a citadel that had to defend itself from eventual invaders.

This 80sqm house is divided in 3 different levels and gets bigger from floor to floor. The main entrance is located under an arch upon a tiny road. A wooden stair connects the ground floor foyer to the dining room, the kitchen and the bathroom on the first floor. In the kitchen is still functioning an old fireplace that once was used also for cooking. The kitchen and the dining room are located upon an arch and the view from the window has no obstacles. An other wooden stair leads to the third floor that comprehends a living room with TV and the large bedroom.

In renovating the apartment the entire materials used are traditional like massive wood and the natural intonaco. The original beams has been maintained, all floors with exception of the bathroom are in wood, all the original fixtures are intact. Some walls are kept intentionally naked to reveal the ancient stones used to build most of the old town. The exterior walls are all in stone.
